Fishing charter

Potenza design concept

Reel Line Charters

Charter customers are usually on vacation, on a phone, and comparing three captains at once. The site has about eight seconds to prove the boat is real, the captain knows the water, and booking won't be a phone-tag ordeal.

The thinking behind the design

The challenge

  • Most charter sites bury the boat, the captain, and the price under stock photography.
  • Visitors are on vacation Wi-Fi on a phone — heavy pages lose the booking.
  • Weather cancellations create anxiety that stops people from paying a deposit.

Design approach

  • Lead with one enormous authentic on-the-water photo, not a slideshow.
  • Deep ocean blue and turquoise with a single warm accent — coastal without the pirate clip art.
  • Rates and the cancellation policy get their own plain-English sections instead of a fine-print footer.
  • Season-by-season species pages give the site real local search surface area.

Conversion strategy

  • Book Your Charter is fixed to the bottom of the screen on mobile.
  • Call the Captain is a tap-to-call link, because half of these bookings still start as a phone call.
  • Every trip card ends in a booking button — no hunting for the contact page.

Important features

  • Trip cards with duration, party size, and what's included
  • Species pages for what's biting by season
  • Captain bio and boat specifications
  • Rates, deposit, and weather cancellation policy up front
  • Photo gallery pulled from actual trips
  • One-tap booking and call buttons on mobile
